(derived from Summercore program)

NB: This list is not meant to be exhaustive, but to give sample reference sites for quick planning.

1.  If you only want general (background) information, you can use Wikipedia.

2.  For Photos (such as for Smartboard or Powerpoint): Yahoo image search or Google image search.

3.  Sounds: AltaVista sounds.

4.  Film Clips:  YouTube  or Teachertube.  You should then convert the files to mp3 to save and present at Zamzar.

5. Search for powerpoints.  Use Google advanced search and change file format to look for suffix .ppt.

6.  For interactive lesson plans, use Google and try adding key words interactive, simulation, animation, or flash (but not all at once!)

7.  Check out teachersfirst.com, especially their matrix of lessons for all subjects and grade levels.

8.  Once good information/news sites are found, look for an rss feed to keep you up to date.

9.  If you like webquests, use webquest in a search (such as Google) or go to webquest.org.

10. Look for cool Google Earth tours (especially for geography related lessons) by Google advance searching and changing the file format to .kml and .kmz. (Note: Google Earth is a separate program from the Google  website that must be downloaded).

For any information taken off the web:

1. cite your source; and

2. analyze the information for accuracy/bias.
