The 8th grade English teachers assigned a creative response project to Catcher in the Rye which included a variety of choices - among them, a blog based on a personal exploration of places where Holden goes in the novel.  The blogs are lovely and a quad-fecta of all those things we strive for! A 21st century assessment with differentiation and external resources, as well suited for boys as for girls.  Best of all, the kids were fully engaged with an incredible book which will soon celebrate its 60th birthday.
