This sweet sixteen class is the first one I have ever taught with exactly 16 students in it ... incredibly special and ironic given the fact that Rick Pitino this fall will try to get the Boston Celtics to win its 17th championship .... on one of the first days, each student was asked to write a sentence telling me something interesting about him/her ... a few excerpts are included below .... October assignment was to fix and enhance your web page on sticks. Get rid of all the bugs within your page (smart single quotes, smart double quotes, typos, incomplete info). Send an e-mail note to your penpal asking her or him to look at your web page if possible and make some suggestions. Include a quote from penpal on your next revision of your web page. The quote can be about your web page or about the game of sticks. Steve Bergen 10/27/97
November in-class assignment was to draw a caricature of a faculty member. Mr. Freeman came into class one day and gave the collection of 16 students some drawing tips as he checked out their projects in the making. The projects turned out to be both skillful and sweet, but we knew that, since this superb class of 16 students have eaten more donuts than any other CP1 class in history! Steve Bergen 11/15/97
