The Daisy Wheel printer is the dinosaur of printers.

The Daisy Wheel printer makes beautiful, well formed letters. They are very good quality printers ... but they are terribly slow! And we cannot forget to mention that they are slow, nosiy, un-relible, expensive and they don't print graphics!





The Dot Matrix printer prints in little dots. Dot Matrix printers are a moderate quality printer and are quick. They also are quiet, and un-exspensive.

How a Laser Printer works is: a laser beam charges a photostatically sensitive drum which then attracts the toner. The price ranges from around $500 - $3,000.

Tractor Feed and Friction Feed are two types of ways for paper to be moved through the machine. Tractor Feed can be paired up with Inkjet Printers, Laser Printers,or even Dot Matrix Printers. If Daisy Wheel Printers where not a trivia question these days; it would also be paired up with these printers, but we won't bother ourselvs with this.The tractor feed printers use the paper with holes in it. A mecanism sticks itself in the holes and picks up the paper and prints on it. The friction feed uses friction to pick the paper up and then prints on it. Some printers can move from tractor feed to friction feed.
